(MGO) - Prey Veng province is the country's second region to be mine-free after Kep province. The CMAA backed by the American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (AmCham) hailed it as a solid step toward demining operations in Cambodia. AmCham has contributed $10,000 to fund the project.

CMAA and AmCham held an event at Prey Veng province and hoped Cambodia will become a mine-free nation by the year 2025. The two minefields measured 3.6 hectares and they were cleared successfully with $10,000 in grants from AmCham.

The government has appealed to donors, development partners and other organisations as well as the private sector for their support, cooperation and partnership with the CMAA.
