Phnom Penh (MGO) - On December 4, 2021, HE Sun Chanthol, Minister of Public Works and Transport, led the Ministry's Technical Working Group to study the possibility of opening the Thmar Da International border crossing with the participation of the Ministry's leadership, technical officials and stakeholders.
The study and inspection aim to open the international border between Cambodia and Thailand to increase trade and tourism cooperation between both countries, as well as to meet the wishes of the people in the western provinces and investors who are looking forward to seeing this border gate turn into an international border soon. This international border crossing is located in Thmor Da commune, Veal Veng district, Pursat province next to Trat province, Thailand.
Please be informed that this border gate is planned to build various infrastructures including: Immigration building, Customs and Excise building for joint inspection, parking for transfer of goods through warehouses, container yard, administrative building and dormitory building to open more opportunities for international cooperation, investment, cross-border trade, job creation, and tourist attraction is also aimed at boosting the economic, family and social life of both nations.
